Veli Joze Festival Motovun It is a revival of the legend of Istria’s giant named Veli Joze, a traditional Istrian folk tale that had long been forgotten. The festival has been initiated by Ozren Grbavcic and co-created together with the town of Motovun in 2012.

Once a year, for one weekend, ‘Veli Joze’ visits the medieval town of Motovun - an experience that transforms the pittoresque historic town centre in a world of myths and traditions, for old and young giant-lovers alike.

The highlight of Veli Joze Festival 2019 was certainly the performance of the famous Croatian comedian Ivan Saric.

Dani Antike - Pula Croatia

Dani Antike in Pula has been co- created by Illustris Event’s co-founder Ozren Grbavcic together with the Pula Tourist Office and has animated the pittoresque historic city centre of Pula with its hommage to the city’s roman heritage for 11 years already.

Since 2019 the Festival has been extended and is now held over a period of 5 weekends in the months of May and June, attracting not only a wide local audience and local school children, but also a lot of visitors who come to Southern Istria in the pre-season.

Educational aspects are combined with interactive and ludique elements and plunge Pula’s famous Forum square into a world of more than 1000 years ago.

Corporate events - Raid Feminin Dalmatie Trophy

Raid Feminin Dalmatie Trophy - Dalmatia, 2018&2019,100pax

For the second year in a row Illustris has organized the Dalmatia Trophy, an all-female multi-sport event handled for a French sports and adventure organizer. Up to 100 participants compete over 3 days in 5 disciplines taking place on 3 different Dalmatian island-locations. Contestants overnight on boats, that take them to the different locations every day. In the first two years of this challenge, destinations for these sports challenges have been Vis, Bol (Brac), Milna (Brac), Hvar, and the Pakleni Islands. Contestants compete in teams of two, in disciplines such as long distance mountain biking , Run&Swim, Stand up Paddling and Kayaking. The final Gala and Awards ceremony has been organized in the prestigious historic Arsenal in Hvar town.

The team spirit of this solidary event is extraordinary and part of the revenue goes to associations fighting breast cancer. The event generates a lot of publicity and press coverage both in Croatia and France and has the support of the Croatian National Tourist Board as well as various local tourist offices.

Corporate events - Incentive & Teambuilding Dubrovnik

Incentive & Teambuilding Dubrovnik September 2017, 15pax

This teambuilding incentive was organized in Dubrovnik for a group of 15 best-performers of a multinational pharma cooperation, in September 2017. Over a period of 3 days, Illustris Events (then Illustris Travel) took care of the activity programme, two dinners and one lunch at special locations dinners, as well as all transfers.

Participants had earned this incentive as a result of their high achievement, so it was of utmost importance to spoil them during their stay, while at the same time creating a leisurely, relaxed ambiance.

Upon arrival, participants were welcomed to enjoy their first evening in Dubrovnik in one of the town’s most stylish and top-notch seaside restaurants. On day two, the group was taken on Srdji Hill, overlooking the old town of Dubrovnik, where they entered a team competition in three consecutive, and very contrasting disciplines: a quad safari, an archery contest and a bowling competition. After this adventurous morning, they were given the chance to relax over lunch, enjoying the breathtaking views over Dubrovnik, whereas for dinner we took them to another one of Dubrovnik’s gourmet hot-spots in the historic Old Town.

Day three was dedicated to an in-depth visit of the charming Old Town of Dubrovnik and light lunch before departing back to the airport.

Corporate events - Quad Rallyes

Quad Rallyes, Istria May & October 2015

For two editions within the same year Illustris organized a Quad rallye through the Istrian hinterland, for a French adventure sports organizer. 25 participants in May and over 50 in October were handled, staying in Vrsar and Motovun and Camp Raspadalica, and going on a different quad challenges every day for 4 consecutive days. Participants took part in the adventure on their own vehicles, that had been transferred from France for this particular event.

Illustris was responsible for the overall handling of the operation, with a particular emphasis on creating the various routings in a way to make them technically challenging, scenic and at the same time secure, for participants as well as for the local populations. A lot of attention to detail was involved in applying for permits for routes and public places, as well as in handling all the security aspects of the operation.

Product Launch, Split - February 2015, 100 participants

Product launch organized for an international pharmaceutical company in February 2015. Despite the relatively small number of participants, the event logistics were highly complex, as it was the client’s aim to create an experience that sweeps participants off their feet and motivates them at a maximum to identify with the product and consequently boost their sales. Absolute discretion about contents, logos etc (even within the event venue) and strictest compliance to company guidelines and Corporate Identity were of paramount importance when organizing this event.
